Gabriel Palomino
"Yesterday is history, Tomorrow is a mystery, but Today is a gift. That is why it is called the present."
Gabriel Palomino is a junior at Virginia Tech, pursuing a B.S. in Computer Science. Hailing from Fairfax, VA, Gabriel maintains a strong academic record with a GPA of 3.66. He appreciates the versatility of the curriculum and the abundance of resources, clubs, and alumni connections available to VA Tech engineers.
Gabriel enjoys soccer, weightlifting, and gaming in his free time. He has a dog named Max, a Coton de Tulear, and a sister. His favorite cartoon character is Toji Fushiguro, whom he admires for his strength and power without relying on magic or superpowers. Gabriel is a fan of hip-hop music and his favorite film is Dune Part 2!
One of Gabriel’s role models is his friend Juan Espinoza, a Virginia Tech alumnus with a passion for aerospace engineering. Juan has provided Gabriel with valuable advice and support in his professional and technical development, serving as an inspiration for his aspirations.
In middle school, Gabriel dreamed of becoming a social media influencer or YouTuber, but his goals have since evolved. Now, he envisions working for a big tech company in Full Stack development, with plans to eventually transition into more managerial roles.
Gabriel is actively involved in Software Engineering work within the Student Affairs IT department, as a Web Applications Developer Intern. He is a dedicated member of the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers (SHPE). He serves as the Webmaster for SHPE. He also volunteers as a tutor for SynYouth, a non-profit organization that helps South American students learn English.
If he could change one thing, it would be his wardrobe, as he is interested in exploring new outfit styles.
