Engineering Information Sessions for Undergraduates

Are you interested in learning more about the College of Engineering? We have several opportunities for you to learn more about the College of Engineering at Virginia Tech.

  1. In-person College of Engineering Information Session offered daily from 11:15 AM - 12:15 PM during the fall and spring semesters when classes are in session -- register to attend (select dates highlighted in green on the calendar)
  2. Virtual College of Engineering Information Session offered the first business day of each month at 7:00 PM EST -- register to attend
  3.  College of Engineering Open House (March 31, 2025 - registration opens in January 2025)

Frequently Asked Questions:

  1. How long should I plan for the engineering information session to last?
    The session will last approximately one hour and allows registered guests to hear about the college and ask questions.

  2. Who leads the engineering information sessions?
    The College of Engineering Dean's Team leads the information sessions.

  3. How do I cancel or reschedule an engineering information session?
    Use the ‘CANCEL this booking’ and ‘RESCHEDULE this booking’ links found in the confirmation email you received after completing your registration.

  4. What if the engineering information session is unavailable or filled on the date I plan to visit?
    You will need to monitor the date to see if space becomes available or select a different date. You can also choose to attend the virtual sessions held each month.

  5. Do you offer the engineering information sessions on holidays and weekends?
    We do not offer the engineering information sessions when classes are not in session, therefore, there are no sessions during holidays or weekends. Refer to the academic calendar to see when classes are in session.

  6. Can I attend a university campus tour?
    Yes, you can register to attend a campus tour and admissions information session. For campus tours, parking, and more, please go to Visiting Virginia Tech.

  7. How many guests can I register?
    Due to limited seating capacity on days of high visitor volume, we may request that only the prospective student and one guest attend the information session. 

  8. Can I visit a classroom?
    No, we do not provide an opportunity for prospective students to visit our classrooms.

  9. Can I visit a lab?
    Self-guided tours are available in the Ware Lab.

  10. Can I meet with someone one-on-one?
    Unfortunately, we do not offer one-on-one consultations at this time. We have tailored the engineering information session to cover the majority of questions from prospective engineering students. You will also have the opportunity to ask questions during the engineering information session.
