Applying to the WBGen Fellowship

How To Apply

Candidates interested in the Wide Bandgap Generation (WBGen) Graduate Research Assistant Fellowship should apply through the Virginia Tech Graduate School for the M.S., PhD, or Direct PhD programs in The Bradley Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering. Interest in the WBGen program should be indicated in the application and personal statement.

Eligibility

Candidates who meet the following criteria are eligible to apply for the Fall 2019 program:

  • Be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Hold a B.S. or graduate-level degree by August 2019.

Applicant Description

The ideal candidate, currently holding a B.S. degree, will preferably have training on electrical engineering, materials science engineering, or a similar engineering field, but be willing to train in the latter disciplines. Candidates currently holding an M.S. degree, or presently enrolled in a PhD program, will preferably have training on power electronics, packaging and integration, and power systems.
