The Visionarium focuses on adoption of supercomputing and visual analysis tools to advance science, engineering, and education. Through its educational and support services, it boosts access to and adoption of cutting-edge tools that integrate with researchers’ data, questions, and workflows. The staff mission is to:
- Consult with researchers to apply advanced visualization technology
- Train students on how develop modern visualization solutions and equipment
- Develop cutting-edge visualization solutions for domain experts / HPC users
- Develop additional grants and funding streams with domain experts to include visualization tools and HPC
University Research Computing Resources (VT Advanced Research Computing)
Advanced Research Computing (ARC) at Virginia Tech is a unit within the Office of the Vice President of Information Technology devoted to maintaining, advancing, and providing support to large-scale research computing in the university. BlueRidge is ARC's largest research computing system with 318 Intel Sandy Bridge nodes offering 5,088 cores and 20 TB of memory.
