Participant Testimonials

  • My daughter thoroughly enjoyed every moment of the program. It gave her not only the opportunity to grow technically and creatively, but also a chance to experience the vibrant college life at Virginia Tech. She came away inspired, more confident, and deeply hopeful that she’ll get selected and return to VTech as a Computer Engineering student in Fall 2026. Thank you once again for all the dedication and care you put into making this such a memorable experience for the students. I as a parent thoroughly enjoyed watching everything that was happening there as part of VTech C-Tech^2 program.

  • I wanted to send you a note of thanks and appreciation for this program.  It was evident how dedicated everyone who volunteered their time for this program was.  Kyla had an amazing time - made amazing friendships - and she hasn't stopped talking about all the different labs/experiences she had with the faculty - favorites being the metal pouring, the mining, and the environmental.  I wasn't sure before this if engineering was what she wanted to do - but after this experience, it seems clear to her and that is good for me! As a woman in engineering - I wish I had been able to attend a program like this before college.  I'm so grateful she could.
  • I had the privilege to attend CTech^2, an summer program that was home to a welcoming, warm, and intelligent group of students all with the mindset to succeed. Our days were packed yet filled with sessions that still resonate with me to this day. Specifically, the tour of a biomedical lab where we met a PHD student doing research on devices that could potentially make pregnancies easier resonated with me because it was an overlooked problem for the longest time, and it was cool to physically see action being taken to address the matter.
  • Returning to Virginia Tech after participating in Imagination and Blast was wonderful! I really feel like I am coming home each summer. If there are any other opportunities for me to spend time in Blacksburg, I would really appreciate learning about them. The more time I spend at Virginia Tech, and in the engineering program, the more I realize how much I want to attend Virginia Tech and major in engineering. I first became enamored of engineering when we built drones at Imagination, and was thrilled to come back this summer. Thank you for all of your support, and for inspiring me to see engineering in a whole new light.
