We have several opportunities for you to learn more about the College of Engineering at Virginia Tech:

- College of Engineering Open House – Save the Date!
Designed for students interested in our undergraduate degree programs, our annual College of Engineering Open House will take place on Monday, April 13, 2026. This all-day event offers a deep dive into our college, departments and facilities. Registration opens in January 2026. - Did you know that some of our departments also offer their own program-specific information sessions? See the list below for participating departments, and click here to register directly. For any questions, please contact the departments directly. All times are listed in Eastern Time (ET) and schedules are subject to change.
- Aerospace and Ocean Engineering Information Sessions on most Mondays and Fridays at 2:30PM
- Biomedical Engineering Information Sessions on every other Friday at 2:30PM in-person and virtual sessions on every first Tuesday at 6:00PM. Please note that there will be no session on Friday before Thanksgiving.

Frequently Asked Questions:
- How long should I plan for the engineering information session to last?
The session will last approximately one hour and allows registered guests to hear about the college and ask questions.
- Who leads the engineering information sessions?
The College of Engineering Dean's Team leads the information sessions.
- How do I cancel or reschedule an engineering information session?
Use the ‘edit registration" link found in the confirmation email you received after completing your registration. You may also email us at EngrRecr@vt.edu.
- What if the engineering information session is unavailable or filled on the date I plan to visit?
You will need to monitor the date to see if space becomes available or select a different date. You can also choose to attend the virtual sessions held each month.
- Do you offer the engineering information sessions on holidays and weekends?
We do not offer the engineering information sessions when classes are not in session, therefore, there are no sessions during holidays or weekends. Refer to the academic calendar to see when classes are in session.
- Can I attend a university campus tour?
Yes, you can register to attend a campus tour and admissions information session. For campus tours, parking, and more, please go to Visiting Virginia Tech.
- How many guests can I register?
Due to limited seating capacity on days of high visitor volume, we may request that only the prospective student and one guest attend the information session.
- Can I visit a classroom?
No, we do not provide an opportunity for prospective students to visit our classrooms.
- Can I visit a lab?
Self-guided tours are available in the Ware Lab.
- Can I meet with someone one-on-one?
Unfortunately, we do not offer one-on-one consultations at this time. We have tailored the engineering information session to cover the majority of questions from prospective engineering students. You will also have the opportunity to ask questions during the engineering information session.
