What is MATLAB?
MATLAB is a programming and numeric computation environment for algorithm development, data analysis, and visualization that is used in several engineering courses.

When will I use MATLAB?
Several courses in the College of Engineering will use MATLAB, including (but not limited to):

  • BMES 2074: Computational Methods in Biomedical Engineering
  • ENGE 1215: Foundations of Engineering
  • ENGE 1216: Foundations of Engineering
  • ENGE 1414: Fundamentals of Engineering
  • ME 2004: Engineering Analysis Using Numerical Methods
  • ME 3524: Mechanical Vibrations
  • ME 3534: Controls Engineering I
