Noah's Trip to Australia and New Zealand

Noah took part in the 2024 RSAP program to Australia and New Zealand, where he got to visit a variety of engineering companies across different fields. The experience gave him a unique look at how industry works in other parts of the world. Looking back, he wishes he had researched the companies ahead of time so he could ask more informed questions during the tours. One of his favorite moments was visiting an airplane hangar in Christchurch. While abroad, he was also surprised by how much more expensive things were - expecially since both countries rely heavily on imports due to their island locations.

Noah’s favorite memory from the trip was the final day, when he and his cohort woke up early to catch the sunrise at Bondi Beach. That evening, they celebrated with a dinner cruise around Sydney—perfectly timed with the opening night of the city’s famous light festival, complete with fireworks and a stunning light show on the harbor. Noah highly recommends studying abroad to anyone considering it, as the experience gave him insight into the engineering industry and helped him choose his major. His biggest piece of advice? Apply for scholarships—they made it possible for him to join the program and get the most out of the experience.
