VT Partner Program: DIS: Study Abroad in Scandinavia
With DIS, you can build your own summer session or semester to fit your needs. The curriculum is broad, cutting edge, and enriched by experiential learning components. You will have the chance to study abroad in Stockholm or Copenhagen and explore life in a progressive capital that offers the perfect balance of history and modern living.

VT Faculty-Led: Hokies Abroad Antarctica - Humans and the Environment
This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to visit the coldest, windiest, driest, quietest, most remote, and least understood continent on Earth. You’ll attend weekly lectures during the fall, prepare a research essay in your area of primary interest, and then participate in a nine-day expedition cruise to the Antarctic Peninsula during winter break.

VT Faculty-Led: Hokies Abroad - Australia & New Zealand
This summer program provides hands-on experience in various environmental management techniques, including forest conservation, ecosystem monitoring, endangered species management, and marine park management. Students will collaborate with scientists, indigenous communities, and organizations to explore sustainable resource management, while also learning about the cultural evolution of different civilizations and their environmental worldviews.

VT Faculty-Led: Tropical Biology in the Ecuadorian Amazon
Travel to the heart of the Ecuadorian Amazon to explore the culture, biology, history, and conservation issues of Ecuador. This is a spring course that meets during the semester with a travel component over spring break.

VT Faculty-Led: Sustaining Human Societies and the Environment in New Zealand
This winter session course examines resource conservation and the context of the natural and social history of New Zealand’s South Island. You’ll use New Zealand as a case study to examine different cultural perspectives on the three pillars of sustainability: environment, social equity, and economics, traveling to Christchurch, Queenstown, Mount Cook, and coastal areas.

VT Faculty-Led: Education Abroad Panama - Searching for Sustainability
Do you enjoy spending time outside, exploring new environments, and roughing it while solving issues in natural resource conservation in Panama? This experience will take you to Panama City, the Panama Canal, and off-grid in the rainforests in the Cocobolo Conservation Area. You’ll immerse yourself in the autonomous indigenous region of Guna Yala in the Caribbean in order to explore local and global issues related to natural resource conservation.

VT Partner Program: University of Dundee, Scotland
Interested in exploring Scottish culture while studying your major in a global context through sustainability and the environment? Open to all majors, this program lets you take courses in fields ranging from engineering and business to art and biomedical sciences. You’ll study in Dundee during the Fall or Spring semester, earning credits toward your degree while engaging with local and international students. The summer option focuses on Design Thinking for Civic Innovation, combining studio-based learning with cultural immersion across Scotland.
