Twelve faculty members in the College of Engineering have received early career awards for the 2024 fiscal year.
Thanks to their innovative contributions to research and education, these rising star faculty have been honored with the prestigious National Science Foundation’s Faculty Early Career Development Program (CAREER) Award. From evaluating assessment practices in light of Generative Artificial Intelligence, to using computational models to predict and prevent landslides, a common thread throughout their diverse research projects is cutting edge research coupled with educational leadership. Hailing from the departments of computer science, civil and environmental engineering, mechanical engineering, industrial and systems engineering, and engineering education, this year’s recipients have a diverse array of expertise. What they all have in common is a desire to solve the world's most complex problems, while looking towards new educational horizons.
