2023 Early Career Awards

Six faculty members in the College of Engineering have received early career awards for the 2023 fiscal year.

This year’s rising stars have received recognition for their innovative contributions to research and education through the National Science Foundation’s Faculty Early Career Development Program.

Their research represents a range of departments and focal points from machine learning to manufacturing to first-year student engineering education. Threaded through these diverse projects is the leadership of an inquisitive researcher with an eye to the future, always seeking out ways to improve the world that we live in for the people we share it with.

Some of the project goals include exploring ways to modernize the foundation of the Linus operating systems, advancing water sustainability and economic resilience, researching and developing new strategies for manufacturing liquid metal-based soft composites that can be used for skin-like wearable devices, advancing data valuation techniques to improve machine learning models that are used in AI decision making, and more.
