Project Goal

This project will fundamentally advance construction robotics by establishing a highly interdisciplinary team that bridges construction engineering, robotics, machine learning,  occupational safety, and workforce development. By coalescing distributed faculty expertise across four departments and leveraging Virginia Tech's specialized construction facilities, this initiative serves as a catalyst for team formation and preliminary data generation. Our overarching objective is to mature this collaboration into a highly competitive contender for center-level funding, specifically targeting a National Science Foundation (NSF) Engineering Research Center (ERC) grant. Ultimately, this effort directly advances Virginia Tech’s strategic vision to lead the nation in Industry 4.0, Artificial Intelligence, and the Future of Work.
