he Student Engineers' Abroad Council (SEAC) general membership is made up of engineering students who either plan on studying or interning abroad, or who have already had an international experience they'd like to share with their peers. It exists "to promote and assist engineers in the pursuit of international experiences."

Benefits to students in the SEAC general membership include receiving the monthly newsletter, which updates them about program and scholarship opportunities and deadlines as well as invitations to many SEAC events. The SEAC Core Council consists of current officers and the officers from the previous election year. The Core Council along with the 16 current SEAC Ambassadors organize activities for all engineering students. To sign-up for the general membership listserv, please email engabroad@vt.edu.

SEAC-SEC Study Abroad Scholarship

Engineering students participating in study abroad experiences can apply for this scholarship to support their travel overseas.

Interested in becoming a SEAC Ambassador?

We are looking for engineering students that are passionate about studying abroad!

SEAC Ambassadors are dedicated to encouraging students from the College of Engineering at Virginia Tech to study abroad by hosting events and advertising abroad programs. Examples of SEAC Ambassador responsibilities include:

  • Working booths at on campus events
  • Helping plan and execute larger events
  • Leading study abroad information sessions
  • Creating unique ways to advertise and promote studying abroad 

Anyone who has studied abroad in the past or is passionate about studying abroad in the future is encouraged to apply.
