The Opportunity:

The Rolls-Royce international internship provides students with a unique entry into real-world engineering objectives and the chance to make an impact from the start. Expect to be challenged. Engineering students will gain new and valuable skills, learning directly from some of the most respected and highly qualified engineers in the industry.

The Details:

  • A three month summer internship, begins in May and ends in August
  • Internships may be in Derby, UK, or Singapore
  • University and Rolls-Royce support for your experience abroad
  • Internship covers overseas travel, relocation allowance, competitive intern salary, health insurance, and additional benefits
  • Develop your skills and get practical, hands on experience with a world-class organization

  • Rolls-Royce will be on campus to meet and potentially interview students:

  • Rolls-Royce will return to campus for additional interviews:
    • October 12, 2017.

The Qualifications:


  • Attending either the University of Virginia or Virginia Tech
  • Pursuing an engineering degree and graduating between December 2018 and August 2019
  • Engineering majors with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above
  • Must be U.S. Citizen/Permanent Resident
  • Must be internationally mobile


  • Well-rounded life experience – academically, socially, and in any previous work situations
  • Excellent communication skills, a flexible attitude, and strong initiative
  • Must be internationally mobile
  • Experience working as part of a team
  • Hands on Experience working on a project (in school or beyond)
