Robert S. Emmett
Rob serves as Assistant Director for Global Engagement in the College of Engineering.
He supports the office of Global Engineering, Engagement and Research and works on international initiatives with COE faculty, and provides leadership for creating and coordinating international experiences for students. He also serves as an institutional point of contact for the student-led work of Service without Borders.
Rob holds a Master’s and Ph.D. from the University of Wisconsin and is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP).
His past research has focused in the field of interdisciplinary environmental studies and his publications include the books Cultivating Environmental Justice (U Mass Press 2016), Environmental Humanities with David E. Nye (MIT Press 2017) and the edited volume with Gregg Mitman and Marco Armiero, Future Remains: A Cabinet of Curiosities for the Anthropocene (U Chicago Press 2018).
Before joining the College of Engineering in 2018, Rob taught for over a decade in interdisciplinary programs. From 2013-2016 he served as Director of Academic Programs at the Rachel Carson Center for Environment and Society at the University of Munch, Germany.
