Responsibilities
Karis is a Graduate Assistant in the Center for the Enhancement of Engineering Diversity. She is part of the support staff for the Galileo and Hypatia Living/Learning community and she responsible for teaching the Hypatia seminar for first year participants.
Education
Karis received her B.S. in Engineering Science with a concentration in Nanomedicine Engineering and minors in Biomedical Engineering and Materials Science in 2014. She is currently pursuing her doctoral degree in Engineering Education.
Background
Karis joined the CEED team in August 2016 after serving as Associate Director of Student Affairs in the Center for Diversity in Engineering at the University of Virginia. She thoroughly enjoys outreach, recruitment, and retention for diverse populations.
