Carl will be serving as a liaison between the alumni, development office and the department of the College of Engineering as we strive to meet our mission of inventing the future thru engineering education, research and public service. His duties include the cultivation and stewardship of major gifts to the College of Engineering.
A former Hokie Bird, Carl holds three degrees from Virginia Tech. He completed B.S. degrees in Agricultural Education and Animal Science in 1986 and a M.S. Degree in Horticulture in 1994.
Since 2002, Carl has served as the President of Virginia Economic Bridge (VEB) based in Radford, VA. In his role with VEB, Carl managed a 42-position board responsible for creating and sustaining programs to promote the economic vitality of the Commonwealth through business, economic, and workforce development. In addition, Carl has served as the Executive Director of One Care of Southwest Virginia since 2005. One Care serves southwest Virginia by helping provide access to health and human services. The organization has a 32-member board.
