Responsibilities
The AEDL Assistant Manager is responsible for the daily operation of the lab, purchasing necessary equipment and materials, and enforcement of lab policy and safety rules. The Assistant Manager also works directly with student team members with project fabrication, design reviews, and testing.

Background
Bob started work with IBM in 1982 in Boca Raton, FL, then transferred to Boulder, CO. He has worked for 35+ years in software quality control and testing for IBM, Xerox, Corning, Capital One, Deloitte and Fidelity as well as several software companies in the CRC and NRV.
Bob has been involved with high power rocketry since 1995 and is a member of the National Association of Rocketry (NAR) and Tripoli Rocketry Association (TRA). Bob was elected to serve on the National Tripoli board of directors for 9 years and as the organization's secretary for 6 years. Bob earned his Level 3 high power rocketry certification in 1999 and has continued to serve locally and nationally as prefect of New River Valley Rocketry and as a member of the Tripoli Advisory Panel (TAP) which mentors and advises on level 3 rocketry projects.
Bob is passionate about science and encouraging and educating the next generation of engineers and explorers. He has engaged in outreach and STEM education for the past 12 years including Christiansburg Middle and High Schools Auburn Middle School, Glenvar and Salem High School, as well as church youth groups, Cub Scouts and Boy scouts. Participated in propellant mixing classes in 1996 and 2019. Mentored VT student teams in NASA and other sponsored rocketry competitions starting in 2012 to present.
