Rebecca L. Shelor joined the Academic Affairs and CEED staffs in August 2004. Her duties include fiscal responsibilities for the accounts and payrolls for the two departments. In addition, she monitors the numerous scholarship accounts and assists with the scholarship process for the College of Engineering.
Rebecca graduated from New River Community College in May 2005 with an AAS in Business Management. She completed the LERN program to become a Certified Program Planner in 1999. In addition, Rebecca is an Emergency Medical Technician with the Commonwealth of Virginia.
Rebecca has been employed at Virginia Tech since January 1985. She began working in Residential and Dining programs and after four years moved to the newly created Dean of Students Office. Rebecca later accepted a position with Continuing and Professional Education where she planned conferences for the College of Engineering before making the move to the Academic Affairs and CEED Offices. Rebecca currently volunteers with the Longshop-McCoy Rescue Squad as an EMT-B and is the Treasurer for both the Fire Department and Rescue Squad.
