J. Scot Ransbottom appointed collegiate associate professor in Bradley Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering
J. Scot Ransbottom has been appointed collegiate assistant professor and director of the Major Design Experience in the Bradley Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering in the College of Engineering at Virginia Tech.
Ranbsottom joins the department from the division of information technology at Virginia Tech where he was employed as deputy chief information officer and information technology chief of staff. Prior to that, he was the acting director in the computer science program in the department of electrical engineering and computer science at the United States Military Academy.
His research interests include cybersecurity and wireless networks. His teaching interests include cybersecurity, networking, and computer engineering.
Ransbottom received a bachelor’s of science in electrical engineering from Ohio University, a master’s of science from Duke University, and a Ph.D. from Virginia Tech.
