Creed Jones appointed collegiate professor and program director in the Bradley Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering
Creed Jones has been appointed Collegiate Professor and Program Director for the Master’s of Engineering Program for the Blacksburg location in the Bradley Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering in Virginia Tech's College of Engineering.
Prior to being employed by Virginia Tech, Jones was the Associate Dean for Graduate Programs and Professor of Engineering at California Baptist University in Riverside, California. He was previously a Senior Research Scientist specializing in Strategic Analytics at Humana Inc. and an Associate Professor of Computer Science at Seattle Pacific University.
His research interests include image processing, facial recognition, image-based biometric identification, imaging for detection of eye diseases. His teaching interests are image processing, computer vision, software development, machine learning.
Jones received his bachelor’s of science and master’s of science from Oakland University in 1980 and 1982, respectively, and his Ph.D. from Virginia Tech in 2005.
