International Research Experience for Students (IRES) Application

Virginia Tech graduate and undergraduate students are eligible to participate in the IRES-FETS program. Students who meet the following criteria are eligible to apply for the Summer 2018 program. The deadline to apply for the Summer 2018 program is to be announced (TBA).

To be eligible applicants must:

• Be an undergraduate engineering students at junior standing or above by January 2018, or graduate engineering students graduating after May 2018.
• Have a minimum GPA of 3.0 in their major.
• Be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.

Women and minorities are strongly encouraged to apply.

Due to the research topics students will work on in this program, students in industrial and systems engineering, electrical and computer engineering, and mechanical engineering programs are encouraged to apply. Students in other disciplines who have taken course work in human factors or power electronics are also encouraged to apply, and should indicate the relevance of this course work in their personal statement.
